Destination Wedding Rome

Jill & Tim. A story of a Belgian girl who falls in love with a French guy. After living together in Paris for some years, they decide to celebrate their love with a destination Wedding in Rome.

In May it was. I had the honor to photograph these two in one of Europe’s finest cities. I was not alone. Together with two other photogs and 2 videographers we teamed up. A 5 headed crew? Oh yeah baby, and I was glad with our team. Cause we needed that many feet and hands to capture all the awesomeness here.

Jill and Tim reserved an entire weekend to celebrate their love. On Thursday they baptized and celebrated their sweet and lovely baby daughter. Friday was the pre-wedding party – and a party it was. Saturday was thé day and another memorable party. And Sunday they brunched with all their loved ones. In between all the activities on our rather busy schedule, we luckily had some spare hours time to stroll around the streets of Rome. Weather was great, company was better, and the Aperol Spritz was the best.

The city of Rome and  both Jill and Tim’s families treated us well and we were happy to be a part of this weekend. Together we made the visual stories complete and I’m glad we could work so well together.

The day started in the exquisite Hotel de Russie where bridal and groom preps took place and all the guests gathered. All guests were then brought to the marvelous church Chiesa Nuova, which was decorated by Guendalina Litta’s team into a flower walhalla. The colors and the lighting were simply amazing. Also the amount of guests and the size of the church made us realize again that our 5 headed photo-video crew was not an exaggeration. We were glad…

After church and a short break in Hotel de Russie, we headed to our next Rome location: the famous Villa di Medici, located on the Pincio Hill, with the most beautiful panoramic view over the city. The day before, we had been scouting the beautiful gardens already, and had our photoshoot go-to plan in our head, but sadly, on the actual day, schedule was super tight and busy, and we let go our golden hour dream place couple shoot…

Guess I have to come back here, one day!

Thanks for the dream team: Ian, Niccola, Glenn and Fre! The weekend would not have been the same without you guys. Photos below are mine only, from Saturday, the actual wedding.

Vendors of the day(s): Wedding Planning / Styling / Organisation: Guendalina Litta and her amazing team; Hotel: Hotel de Russie, Rome; Wedding Venue: Villa di Medici Rome; Bridal dress, bridesmaid dresses and all these women’s shoes: Olivier Theyskens, a Belgian fashion designer and close friend of the bride.

Lots of love,

Leentje
