Whoever thought that a beach wedding in Belgium is not possible is wrong. I can say that, cause last summer I photographed the probably most exquisite beach wedding in this tiny country with its tiny (and not so pretty) coast.
Marie and Laurens booked me quite early beforehand, and they immediately grabbed my attention when they explained they would do their ceremony on the beach, with their venue being right besides it, the Pier of Blankenberge. I didn’t even know that this was possible here. The only thing for this awesome plan… you never know what the weather will bring. But I can tell that with my weddings in 2017, we were extremely lucky with the amount of sunshine, and this trend luckily continued in the beginning of September. Marie and Laurens couldn’t wish for more. That being sad, the only fun factor on this day was that the beach was packed with tourists. And how often do you see a beach ceremony in Blankenberge? Right. Marie and Laurens felt like moviestars, when they made their ‘entrée’. And the ceremony, was not only for their family and friends, but had to be shared with a dozen of too-curious-to-be-true tourists, in their speedos and bikinis. Hilarity all over.
After the ceremony, told by Stories by Mabel and styled by WonderWeddings, all guests moved to the Pier, an amazing and well organized venue in the North Sea with a 360° view over the beach and the sea. All guests fully enjoyed the fresh oysters and delicious meals, and were surprised by the 23:45 fireworks, fired from the beach.
This day… was just a dream.
