Fast rewind to November, when I shot the autumn wedding in Kasteel Rozelaar of Ines and Wim. It’s been more than half a year ago, but thinking back always brings a smile on my face.
These two are so adorable together and so sweet towards each other, it was hard to believe. Two strong souls though, two intelligent people, you could tell. They trusted me and I gave my best to document their day together with my second shooter, Niccola.
We started the day in the Hotel Sandton Reylof in Gent, where Ines was getting ready and where the magnificent staircase was the décor for the first look. First I didn’t understand what all the staircase fuss was about… I was like ‘common, the garden here is pretty, what is that staircase thing’… (so me)… until I saw it. This staircase was the reason why they booked this hotel, and I could totally understand. The moment was as they wished, and I couldn’t be any happier.
Lieke of Stories by Mabel brought her magic in the super strong and emotional ceremony in the old barn of Kasteel Rozelaar. Her words – as usual – brought tears, wide smiles and loud laughter. Later on, the barn was built into the dining room, with lots of candles to feel cosy in autumn. After dinner, the Gin Tonic bar couldn’t follow the orders, and the party started as never before.
Thank you so much, Ines and Wim. You are the couple every wedding photographer wishes to have. Kind, laid back, great sense of humor, and above all… LOVING!
